Emmanuel Baptist Church is located in Berea, Ky. We are a KJV Bible based conservative Southern Baptist church which believes the Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Believers baptism by immersion is practiced and we emphasize a personal conversion of being born again.

Emmanuel Baptist Church is seeking a part-time, Bi-vocational Youth Pastor/Associate Pastor to lead and disciple the next generation in a Christ-centered, Bible-based ministry by providing biblical teaching, organizing youth activities and engaging with youth in the community. We are looking for candidates who will work 15-20 hours a week to grow our youth congregation and fill in for the pastor in the case of vacation or sickness.

As the Youth/Associate Pastor, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and leading ministries that nurture the spiritual growth of middle, high school and college students. You will work directly under the supervision of the pastor, serve on the Church Council as well as work alongside the Youth Committee, Children’s Committee and other ministry leaders to implement outreach programs. These programs will create a Christ centered environment where youth can grow in their faith.


  • Oversee all aspects of youth ministry including the Wednesday night youth program and the youth Sunday School class.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to students and their families, ensuring they feel supported in their faith journey.
  • Provide meaningful Christian experiences by coordinating special events such as retreats, lock ins, youth camp, outings and fellowships, at least quarterly, as well as submitting copies of Bible studies of these events when requested by the Pastor.
  • Foster spiritual growth through small groups, Bible studies, and one-on-one mentoring.
  • Assist volunteers in the promotion and execution of all children/youth programs. Including but not limited to the Sunday School Director as well as attending committee meetings that involve youth activities.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled worship services and lead the Sunday children’s sermon as well as other sermons as needed when Pastor is on vacation or out due to sickness
  • Assist Pastor in visitation and outreach responsibilities to grow youth enrollment, relationships with the unchurched, and share the gospel.
  • Keep youth and parents informed about ministry events through announcements, email, social media, mailings, etc.
  • Seek to build relationships with students, parents/guardians, school administrators/teachers/coaches, and people in community to influence students in the area toward a vibrant relationship with Christ.
  • Administrative responsibilities to include but not limited to managing the youth ministry budget, progress reports, social media platforms and working with volunteers to plan programs and events.

  • A servant leader with a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects biblical values
  • Clear calling to youth ministry with strong biblical teaching skills
  • Agreement with and commitment to the church’s statement of faith and doctrine as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1963
  • Commitment to youth safety
  • Organization skills to effectively plan and execute youth ministry activities and services
  • High school education (ministry degree preferred)
  • Physically able to engage in activities with students (with or without reasonable accommodations)
  • Requires exceptional speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups
  • Proven track record of computer skills, including but not limited to social media platforms and Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite
  • Ability to connect with middle, high school, and college students in a meaningful and engaging way as well as communicate well with congregation
  • Successful passing of background check to include criminal, financial and sexual misconduct

Salary and benefits will be discussed with the finance committee and will be based on hours worked, experience and education level.
